Numerical Simulation of Pressure Wave Propagation and Its Effect on Damage to the Reactor Cavity under TNT Detonation for Steam Explosion

چکیده

In a severe accident, molten corium may penetrate the reactor pressure vessel and enter cooling water in cavity, then steam explosion occur. Steam explosions can initiate waves threaten structural integrity of cavity. To investigate propagation characteristics waves, including pattern, attenuation, amplification under TNT detonation, coupled numerical approach combined with arbitrary Lagrangian–Eulerian fluid–structure interaction methods are utilized. The peak pressures incident reflected shock decrease rapidly increasing distance from charge center, whereas cavity be between 1.30 1.67 times pressure. Then, analysis is performed to evaluate damages concrete, liner plate, reinforcements. From results, localized superficial concrete observed basemat; however, risk damage resulting collapse these components very low. plate reinforcements also low since maximum strain values much lower than failure criteria. Finally, will maintained during detonation for explosion.

Numerical Simulation to Investigate the Effect of Obstacle on Detonation Wave Propagation in a Pulse Detonation Engine Combustor

Pulse detonation technology can be a revolutionary approach for propulsion system since it offers significant fuel efficiency, higher thrust to weight ratio and low cost. Although the design concept of a pulse detonation engine is comparatively simple, but the development and stabilization of sustainable detonation wave front is difficult. Consequently pulse detonation engine technology is stil...

there is no doubt that human being needs to become integrated with industry and industry needs to be progressed, daily. on the other hand, serious events in industrial units specially in oil industries has been shown that such damages and events are industry related ones. the consequence of such events and damages which resulted in chemical and poisoned explosions and loss of life and property ...

Numerical Simulation of TNT-Al Explosives in Explosion Chamber

The Numerical modeling of burning particles, initiated from a heavily aluminized High Explosive (HE) is being investigated. Reactive multiphase flows must be modeled to properly account for variable-size aluminum particles burning behind the blast wave. The governing equations also include models for solid evaporation and chemical reactions. The final paper will present comparison of experiment...

an investigation of the impact of self monitoring on langauge teachers motivational practice and its effect on learners motivation

the central purpose of this study was to conduct a case study about the role of self monitoring in teacher’s use of motivational strategies. furthermore it focused on how these strategies affected students’ motivational behavior. although many studies have been done to investigate teachers’ motivational strategies use (cheng & d?rnyei, 2007; d?rnyei & csizer, 1998; green, 2001, guilloteaux & d?...

the effect of functional/notional approach on the proficiency level of efl learners and its evaluation through functional test

in fact, this study focused on the following questions: 1. is there any difference between the effect of functional/notional approach and the structural approaches to language teaching on the proficiency test of efl learners? 2. can a rather innovative language test referred to as "functional test" ge devised so so to measure the proficiency test of efl learners, and thus be as much reliable an...
